Cox & Co. positions itself as a bureau that wants to make a positive difference in the payroll, pension and reward industry. We’re a small team but very proud to be double award winners for innovation, Founding Members of the Payroll Bureau Association and actively involved in promoting payroll apprenticeships as a career choice to school leavers.

Global Payroll Student of the Year 2023 – Daniel Bishop
Our apprentice Daniel Bishop grabbed the limelight at this year’s glittering global payroll awards held at the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh.
Only 10 months into his payroll apprenticeship, Daniel Bishop ACIPP shone bright at the Global Payroll Awards held in the prestigious surroundings of The National Museum of Scotland on 8th June 2023. Both of our apprentices Daniel and Bella Cox ACIPP were shortlisted from submissions from as far wide as Brazil, Singapore and Australia.
Daniel joined Cox & Co. straight from 6th form college after studying Game Design and Game Art at Access Creative College Bristol aged 19. He told us at his initial interview in August 2022 that he was ‘ready to launch into a career’ – and so he has – with absolute splendour! Daniel has played an integral part in our customer success programmes, creating ‘explainer’ videos for employers and employees, MS Access databases for data streamlining and also learning payroll processing during his formal Level 3 payroll apprenticeship training. His talents, skills and technical enthusiasm has led to his success in the business and resulted in him being spotlighted and awarded by the international payroll industry. We are so proud of his achievements.

We are somewhat ecstatic to announce that both our apprentices Daniel Bishop ACIPP and Bella Cox ACIPP have been shortlisted for “Payroll Student of the Year” in the Global Payroll Association 2023 awards. The prestigious award ceremony will take place 8th June 2023 in Edinburgh. We can’t wait to join the other 6 contestants celebrating this amazing achievement.

Payroll apprentices really do have a brilliant future ahead of them in the profession when the right training and support is provided. And, this was reaffirmed when in May 2023 one of the UK’s top apprenticeship providers, Leicestershire County Council’s Adult Learning Services commented on our provision. Tracy adds “It is brilliant that outside impartial training providers value the support and experiential learning we provide to our trainees.”
